A New President for the Rafik Hariri University

Following the end of mandate of Dr. Abdul Rahman Arkadan, as President of the Rafik Hariri University,
And upon the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between the Rafik Hariri University and the American University of Beirut,
Dr. Riad Bahjat Chedid , a Full Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut, has been seconded as a President of the Rafik Hariri University,
In accordance with the terms of the Agreement, the Office of the Vice President for the Regional External Program (REP) at the American University of Beirut shall assist in providing consultative services to RHU in both academic and administrative domains.
On that occasion, the RHU Board of Trustees extended thanks to Dr. Abdul Rahman Arkadan in recognition of his undertaking a ten year responsibility in running the University. The Board also wished Dr. Riad Bahjat Chedid all the success in assuming his new tasks.
A handover ceremony took place on Monday February 3rd , 2014 .
